A new branch of art or a way of continuing surrealism?
I would like to talk today about Salvador Dali, who is a famous Spanish painter. Was born in 1904. In nearly 20-ies of 20th century studied in the Art Academy of Madrid. In 1929 he left for Paris and there began to connect with surrealists. The unsound mind awoke in him strange dreams. He was able to express those dreams on canvas so masterly, that the people who were watching those artworks, even believed that the subjects are real and alive. «The Lugubrious Game” artwork was created in 1929. Here are expressed such figures, which even make people to be afraid because of their absurdity. The same things can be told about the artworks «The Great Masturbator», «Soft Construction with Boiled Beans», etc. In 1934 a struggle began between Dali and other surrealists and their relations become worse. But even after leaving that group, he continued to say that he is a real surrealist. In 1940 the artist left for USA and because of his unique style he began famous not only in USA, but all over the world. In 1948 Dali returned to Spain and by engaging himself with Catholicism, began to paint religious artworks. I would like to point that I mostly like the painting «The Sacrament of the Last Supper». This artist is not only a good painter, but also photographer, sculpturer and writer. He died in 1989.
